Here is the next installment in our Meet the Maker series. Let's meet Lauren, owner of Rainbow Prints.
1) Who are you and what do you make?
I'm Lauren Bromley, owner of Rainbow Prints. I Illustrate, design and make a range of prints, accessories and gifts for kids and big kids!
2) What first got you into making things?
I began Rainbow Prints as a baby prints service whilst I was still working the 'day job'. I started illustrating magical characters to use on baby art and began my line of gifts and accessories using the same characters. Getting back into illustration was wonderful and things just progressed from there.
3) What does a day in the life of Rainbow Prints look like? (if there is such a things as a standard day?)
Whilst day to day tasks change, most mornings start with a strong brew whilst looking at emails, social media, orders and my daily planner (I have to write everything down in notebooks and planners to keep myself on track and semi-sane!). I then start hand-making etsy orders and new projects. Posting orders happens generally in the afternoon and then there's time to order any supplies, and of course draw. New ideas tend to come to me in the evening so the notebooks and sketchbooks come out again!
4) What hopes and plans do you have for your handmade business the future?
For the immediate future I hope to really grow my online presence and etsy shop. I also have plans to re-brand in the summer to allow for further freelance opportunities and expand on my own creative projects. Exciting times ahead! One day I would really love to run my own studio gallery. A girl can dream, and who knows...
You can find Rainbow Prints on their website, Etsy, Instagram and Facebook.

Canalside Creations is a handmade craft business run by us, a husband and wife team, and inspired by our two small children. Each and every purchase makes us do a little happy dance and means we can keep running our little business and spend more time home with our little family. Thank you for supporting handmade!
